Terms of Service

Last Updated: November 3, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Nomad mobile application, website, and related services (the "Platform"). Nomad is operated by SGUsed LLC d/b/a Nomad and is the consumer-facing name of the marketplace previously known as SGUsed. By creating an account or using Nomad, you agree to these Terms.

1. Operator of the Platform

Nomad is operated by:

SGUsed LLC d/b/a Nomad
30 N Gould St #Ste R
Sheridan, WY 82801
United States
Support Email: mail@nomadstudyabroad.com

2. About Nomad

Nomad is an online marketplace for students, locals, visitors, and approved businesses. It currently supports:

Listings can be associated with a campus or school and with a neighborhood or pickup area. Nomad is not student housing and is not a party that owns the cars, goods, or services listed by users.

Nomad does not own, inspect, or guarantee items or vehicles listed on the Platform and is not a party to transactions between users, except that it provides payment processing, messaging, and related tools.

3. Eligibility and Account Types

To use Nomad you must:

By using Nomad you confirm that you meet these eligibility requirements. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian has reviewed these Terms and this Privacy Policy and agreed to your use of the Platform.

Accounts include:

You must verify your email before using account features that require sign-in. Nomad may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these requirements.

4. Guest Use

You may browse listings without an account. Checkout, offers, chat, profile, posting, and rentals that require payment or messaging require you to create an account or sign in. If you start an action as a guest, Nomad may return you to that listing or checkout after you authenticate.

5. User Accounts

Users are responsible for:

Users may not:

Nomad may suspend or terminate accounts at its discretion.

6. Listings: Goods, Services, and Rentals

Sellers and owners are responsible for the accuracy of listings, including price, photos, availability, pickup or service area, and campus tags.

Nomad does not guarantee:

Users are responsible for inspecting goods before confirming pickup. Paid for-sale and service listings may be removed from the feed only after payment succeeds, not merely because checkout was opened.

7. Payments for Goods and Services

Payments are processed through Stripe.

When a buyer pays for a good or service:

Once pickup is confirmed, payment may be released to the seller, minus applicable fees.

If a buyer does not confirm pickup within 48 hours of payment, Nomad staff may contact both parties. If the seller confirms that the item has not been delivered, funds may be returned to the buyer and the transaction voided.

Once funds have been released to a seller, Nomad generally cannot reverse the payment. In rare circumstances Nomad may offer a courtesy refund and pursue recovery from the seller.

8. Rental Cars

8.1 Booking and payment

Renters select pickup and return dates and review a quote before paying. Amounts due may include rental price, a service/processing fee, and a refundable security deposit. Monthly or long-stay rentals may be billed in periods (including prorated amounts) as shown in the quote.

Payment is collected through Stripe. An unpaid booking does not hold the vehicle, open owner chat, or notify the owner until payment succeeds. After payment, the booking waits for the owner to accept. If the owner declines, the renter is refunded as provided by the Platform.

8.2 Driver verification

Renters must provide a valid driver’s license. If the license is not issued in Grenada, a paper permit (or other document the app requests) may also be required. Nomad and owners may refuse a rental if documents are missing, unclear, or appear invalid. Uploading documents does not mean Nomad has verified your driving record or insurance.

8.3 Walkaround photos and video

Owners (and, where the app allows, renters) may capture camera-only photos or video of the vehicle around pickup or return. This media is stored with the booking and may be used for damage review, deposit claims, and admin decisions. Walkaround media is not always required to start a rental, but a deposit claim may require before-photos.

8.4 Security deposits

A refundable security deposit may be charged at booking and held by Stripe. During or after the rental, an owner may claim up to the deposit amount, with a reason and optional evidence. The renter may approve the claim (which can pay the owner and refund any remainder) or dispute it. A dispute may require the owner to add after-photos or other follow-up. Nomad administrators may pay the owner, refund the renter, pay a portion, or deny a claim. Deposit handling is not insurance and does not limit other legal claims between owner and renter.

8.5 Vehicle condition, insurance, and law

Owners must only list vehicles they are legally allowed to rent and must keep any required licenses, permits, and insurance. Nomad may display owner-provided license or insurance information to administrators; that does not mean Nomad underwrites the rental. Renters must follow local traffic laws and the owner’s reasonable rules for the vehicle. Nomad is not a rental-car company and does not provide insurance.

9. Fees

Nomad charges a 5% platform fee on completed sales and rentals, deducted from the seller’s or owner’s proceeds. Buyers and renters also pay Stripe processing fees as shown at checkout. The 5% platform fee applies to goods, services, and rental cars. Fee amounts shown in the app at the time of the transaction control if they differ because of rounding.

Buyers and renters are also responsible for payment processing fees charged by Stripe (currently on the order of 2.9% + $0.30 for U.S. cards and 4.4% + $0.30 for international cards, subject to Stripe’s rates). Stripe processing fees do not go to Nomad as platform revenue except as Stripe’s own pricing provides.

Rental quotes separately itemize rental price, processing/service fee, and security deposit. Remaining rent on a multi-period booking may be charged later as shown in the quote.

10. Cancellations

Once a buyer or renter submits successful payment, they cannot always cancel from inside the app. Contact support through the Platform to report issues. Nomad may review and, where appropriate, refund, release, or continue a hold.

Leaving checkout without completing payment does not create a paid order, does not notify the other party, and does not remove a listing.

11. Disputes

For goods and services, if a buyer believes an item is not as described, Nomad may review evidence from both parties. Refunds are not guaranteed. Users should not confirm pickup until the item has been inspected.

For rentals, deposit claims and disputes follow the in-app deposit flow (approve, dispute, follow-up photos, admin decision). That process is limited to the held deposit unless Nomad or a court decides otherwise.

There is no strict time limit to contact support, but earlier reports are more likely to be resolved. Malicious disputes or fraud may result in permanent account suspension and legal action.

12. Prohibited Items and Conduct

The following are prohibited:

Users also may not list vehicles they are not authorized to rent, misrepresent insurance or licenses, or use Nomad to evade local rental, driving, or tax law.

Nomad may remove listings and suspend accounts without notice.

13. Content Moderation

Nomad may use automated systems and human moderators to monitor content. These systems may scan listings and messages for prohibited language, attempts to exchange off-platform payment information, or attempts to bypass the Platform. Flagged posts may be placed in pending review. Moderators may remove content without prior notice.

14. Messaging and Monitoring

Messages between users are stored on Nomad servers. Administrators may review messages to investigate reports, prevent fraud, or enforce these Terms. Messages may be scanned for attempts to share outside payment methods.

15. User Blocking

Users may block other users. Blocked users cannot send messages, make offers, or view your listings, as implemented in the app.

16. Reporting

Users may report posts, profiles, and messages. Nomad may investigate and take action including content removal or account suspension.

17. Account Suspension and Termination

Nomad may suspend or permanently ban accounts for fraud, scams, abuse, unsafe rentals, or violations of these Terms. Users may delete their accounts and data at any time, subject to records we must keep for payments or law.

18. Safety

Users should take reasonable precautions when meeting for pickup, return, or service. Recommendations include meeting in public locations, inspecting items or vehicles thoroughly, not confirming pickup until the item is received, photographing the vehicle at handover, and following local driving laws. Nomad is not responsible for in-person meetings.

19. Limitation of Liability

Nomad is provided "as is" without warranties. Nomad is not responsible for:

20. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Grenada, West Indies, which is considered the jurisdiction of both buyers and sellers using the Platform.

21. Changes to Terms

Nomad may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.
